This project broke down Chinatown, Houston into subsystems to further analyze and understand the connections between the people, culture, infrastructure, and economy of the area. The handheld fan and Chinatown are similar in the way that they are both greater than their parts. The full design of the fan can only be achieved when held up to a light source, which emphasizes the concept of "the whole is greater than the sum of the parts."
